Job Description

The Coil Solderer is responsible for attaching u-bends, headers and distributors using pattern diagrams and soldering components onto heat exchange coils.  It is critical that all soldered joints are complete and leak free before passing coil to pressure test.

This is a temporary-to-permanent position with good attendance and job performance. Qualifies for attendance bonus!

Various shifts available- Days: Monday-Friday 6:30-4:30, Nights: Sunday - Thursday 7:30p-5:30a and Weekends: Friday-Sunday 6:00a-6:30p (work 36 hours and get paid for 40!)

Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Job Requirements

To perform Coil Solder job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and instructions. Read and understand bills of material. Melts and applies solder along adjoining edges of work pieces to solder joints, using gas torch.
  • Check work and ensure quality.
  • Read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
  • Care for tools and equipment.
  • Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working properly.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
  • Follow manufacturing instructions, work by oneself without constant supervision, be self-motivated and complete job assignments on time.
  • Charge time accurately in time and attendance system on computer to ensure accurate labor distribution and payroll.
  • Attend work as required. Arrive for work on time.
  • Clean work area as required. Must have effective communication skills.
  • Contribute to team effort by working with others both within department and with other departments.
  • Complete any task as assigned by supervisor as needed.
  • Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies and company procedures.


Education & Experience: A high school level of education is desired for this position in order to continue upward advancement in the company. The employee must be able to understand directions from superiors.

Skills: Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch, ability to determine what tools and equipment are needed to do a job, ability to control operations of equipment or system, monitoring/assessing performance of yourself, other individuals or organization to make improvements or take corrective action, arm-hand steadiness, manual dexterity, near vision, wrist-finger speed, finger dexterity, information ordering.

Training will be provided.
